Mandaluyong CSWD apologizes for wrong payment of ECQ cash aid to residents

The Mandaluyong City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) has issued an apology after some of the city's residents received the wrong amount of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) cash aid.

In a letter to Mayor Menchie Abalos on April 10, the CSWD explained that some of the individuals in the master list did not have information on the number of members in their household, hence, they were automatically placed by the computer system in the list of individuals who will receive P1,000 only.

According to the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, S-2021 and EO 34, S-2021 from the national government, beneficiaries of the ECQ cash assistance must receive the following amount depending on how many individuals are there in a family:

1 individual per household = P1,000.00
2 individuals per household = P2,000.00
3 individuals per household = P3,000.00
4 individuals and above per household = P4,000.00

The CSWD assured Abalos and the public that the incident will not happen again and that they already made steps on how it can be prevented.

The Mandaluyong City local government said those who wrongfully received P1,000 from April 7 to April 8 can go to their respective pay-out centers for them to be given the proper amount of cash assistance and must bring the following documents:

  • Valid ID and photocopy of it;
  • Copy of their Social Amelioration Program (SAP) Form or;
  • Certification from their barangay proving that they have one or more beneficiaries or;
  • Other documents that can prove how many they are in the family
