TNC Predator staved off Reckoning Esports in the lower bracket semifinals to keep its hopes for a three-peat alive in the Asia Pacific Predator League Dota 2 Grand Final 2020/2021 on Friday, April 9.

Midlaner Armel “Armel” Tabios’ signature Templar Assassin and Kim “Gabbi” Santos’ Bristleback pushed TNC to a massive advantage but they still needed to survive a scare from Reckoning which got a Divine Rapier-equipped Terrorblade at the hands of Julius “JG” Galeon.

Reckoning showed some signs of life in the 32nd minute as it came up with a successful base defense behind the brilliant plays from Ken “Ken” Llesis’ Puck.

Ken, Linuel “Teehee” Abanto’s Clockwerk, Kryte “LuziFy” Gabriel’s Tusk and Glenard “Rupido” Rugay’s Legion Commander were able to buy time for JG to get his Divine Rapier.

However, the much experienced TNC side secured the third Roshan kill in the 37th minute then prevailed in a crucial team fight where Timothy “Tims” Randrup’s Lion bursted down JG.

With the Divine Rapier picked up by Armel, TNC forced the GG call from Reckoning in the 38th minute with a commanding 39-20 kill score and 17K gold lead.

Armel on his TA came through with 18 kills and 16 assists with only three deaths while offlaner Jun “Bok” Kanehara on his Brewmaster provided big disables in clashes and finished with a perfect record of six kills and 17 assists.

Gabbi’s Bristleback tallied 9-6-18 kill-death-assist while the support duo of Tims and Marvin “Boomy” Rushton’s Keeper of the Light put up a combined 34 assists.

TNC will next take on the loser of the upper bracket finals match between OB x Neon Esports and Boom Esports for a spot in the best-of-three grand finals.
