Of these patients, 97.5 percent have mild symptoms, 1.2 percent are asymptomatic, 0.5 percent are critical, 0.5 percent are severe, and 0.30 percent are in moderate condition.

The newly-reported cases were slightly lower compared to the previous days.

"The relatively lower number of cases today is due to the low number of samples received by laboratories last April 5, 2021," the DOH explained.

It was also shown that the COVID-19 related deaths in the country breached the 14,000-mark.

On Wednesday, the DOH reported 242 new fatalities. This brought the death toll to 14,059.

Meanwhile, 163 more patients have recovered, raising the recovery count to 646,404.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases since the pandemic hit the Philippines stood at 819,164.

The OCTA Research group projected that the overall tally of cases may hit one million before the end of this month.
