DAVAO CITY — A day after she left the country for Singapore from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Metro Manila, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte confirmed Wednesday that she took a four-day medical leave.
In her statement released by the City Information Office, Duterte said her medical leave started from April 6 until April 10.
Duterte said her reason for flying to Singapore was for “personal health management.”
The mayor said she secured a travel authority from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) before leaving the country.
Her young brother, Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, has been designated as acting mayor of this city until Saturday.
She said all protocols for her return, including reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test and 14-day quarantine, have been pre-arranged.
