He posted this on Instagram after news of him not returning for Season 2 of the Netflix hit was announced.
"It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke. Joining this family - not just on screen, but off screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, outstanding fans - it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined. The love is real and will just keep growing," he added.
The American streaming television period drama series created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shonda Rhimes is inspired by Julia Quinn's novels as set in the competitive world of Regency-era London.
The story focuses on the close-knit Bridgerton siblings as they look for love and happiness in London high society.
