The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) distributed purified drinking water to passengers at the Manila North Harbor, who were waiting for their trip home to provinces in observance of the Lenten season on Thursday, April 1.
In a Facebook post, the PCG shared photos of its personnel handing bottled water to port passengers amid the scorching heat of the summer season, saying that “Tubig (Water) is essential.”
“Isa lamang ito sa mga inisyatibo ng PCG para magbigay ng serbisyong may malasakit sa kapwa Pilipino, lalo na sa gitna ng pandemya (This is just one of the PCG’s initiatives to provide services to fellow Filipinos, especially amid COVID-19 pandemic),” it added.
The PCG on Friday, March 26, placed all its units on heightened alert to manage the influx of port passengers during the Lenten season.
