The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) warned the public against a circulating fake message that it is asking for monetary donations for its COVID-19 patients.

PGH said unscrupulous individuals are using the name of PGH Medical Foundation, Inc. (PGH MFI) for fraud.

“PGH and PGH MFI would like to inform the public that this message is not from us,” the hospital said in an advisory Tuesday.

“Current government funding and private support allow the PGH to provide free COVID-19 treatment to all our currently admitted charity patients,” it added.

PGH asked the public to be wary of false information circulated about the hospital.

Last week, the hospital also warned about individuals using its SARS-CoV-2 Reverse Transcription PCR (RT-PCR) report forms to fake their COVID test results.
