Former President and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said on Monday that she is praying for the speedy recovery of her predecessor, former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada, who was rushed to the hospital on Sunday night after contracting COVID-19.
“I wish to extend my warmest wishes for a speedy recovery to former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada,” Arroyo said in a statement.
She said she is also praying for the recovery of “all those who are battling COVID-19.”
Arroyo said Estrada will be part of her daily prayers.
“You are in my thoughts and prayer,” she said.
Estrada was rushed to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Greenhills, San Juan City on Sunday night after complaining of weakness and malaise.
He was found positive for COVID-19. According to his sons, former Senators Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito, the former president is in stable condition.
