Police Col. Gilbert Gorero, chief of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), said that suspect Corporal Marvin Seasol, who is assigned at Arevalo police station in Iloilo City, is facing criminal charges for shooting Normando Estrebor.

An incident report from the Oton police station said a drunk Seasol allegedly threw stones at the house of the Estrebor family, prompting the victim and his son Ernesto to check.

Seasol shot Normando several times. The victim is currently recovering in an undisclosed hospital.

The policeman who held a grudge with the Estrebor family fled and hid in their compound for several hours.

Police surrounded Seasol’s compound until the suspect was convinced by a former policeman, Oton Councilor Sofronio Fusin, to surrender.

Police Capt. Shella Mae Sangrines of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) said Seasol will face the consequences for his actions that were done outside of his duty as a police officer.
