DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the current masterlist for healthcare workers only contains 1.2 million.

“Sa estimate natin bago nag-umpisa, we have 1.8 [million] total estimate for healthcare workers. So meron tayong difference na mga 600,000 (In our estimate before we started, we have a total estimate of 1.8 [million] for healthcare workers. So we have a difference of about 600,000),” said Vergeire during a press briefing on Friday, March 26.

“We coordinated with the local chapters of societies for the healthcare workers:  mga dental societies, midwives societies at iba pa para tawagin yung kanilang mga miyembro para mabakunahan natin sila lahat dito sa ating mga vaccination sites (We coordinated with the local chapters of societies for the healthcare workers: dental societies, midwives societies and others to call their members so that we can vaccinate them all here at our vaccination sites),” she added.

Vergeire said that some medical workers are freelance or are not affiliated with medical facilities.

“So, hinahanap pa po natin itong mga healthcare workers na wala silang affiliation sa hospital or mga clinics, freelance lang sila o di kaya yung mga healthcare workers natin sa dialysis stations, dental clinics, sa mga chemotherapy clinics (So, we are still looking for these healthcare workers who have no affiliation with the hospital or clinics, they are just freelancers or maybe our healthcare workers in dialysis stations, dental clinics, in chemotherapy clinics),” said Vergeire.

“So kailangan po natin sila ma-cover so that we can finish our healthcare workers before we go on to the next sector (So we need to cover them all so that we can finish our healthcare workers before we go on to the next sector),” she added.

The DOH also encouraged the different vaccination sites in the country to track down the remaining number of healthcare workers who are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination.

“We are still encouraging our implementing units, regional offices na ituloy nyo po ang pagbabakuna. Hanapin po natin yung hindi pa po natin nahahanap na mga healthcare workers (We are still encouraging our implementing units, regional offices to continue the vaccination. Let’s find the healthcare workers who we  have not found yet),” she said.
