This is until Archbishop-elect Cardinal Jose F. Advincula has been formally installed.

Father Reginald Malicdem, the rector of the Manila Cathedral, confirmed this information on Friday, March 26.

In a Facebook post, the Manila Cathedral also said that the name of Pabillo will continue to be mentioned in the Eucharistic Prayer of Masses celebrated in the archdiocese.

“Until Cardinal Jose Advincula is installed as Archbishop of Manila, the name of Bishop Broderick Pabillo as Apostolic Administrator will continue to be mentioned in the Eucharistic Prayer of Masses celebrated in the Archdiocese of Manila,” read the post.

The Archdiocese of Manila has been left “sede vacante” after Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle assumed his Vatican post as prefect of Propaganda Fide in February last year.

After more than a year, Pope Francis named Advincula as the new Manila archbishop on Thursday, March 25.
