“There are initially 400 affected families or 1,759 individuals as of today who are currently staying at temporary evacuation center - Baliwasan Central School SPED Center,” it said in a Facebook post, citing the DSWD's rapid assessment in coordination with City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD).

The distribution of the sleeping kits was facilitated by a team from DSWD-Disaster Response Management Division (DRMD)

"As per assessment from the CSWDO,  sleeping kits are primarily the urgent needs of the victims,” the DSWD FO IX said.

It noted that other government and non-government organizations and private individuals also provided assistance to the fire victims. The aid include meals, blankets, potable water, food packs, and used clothing.
