P300 wedding gown? Why Dionne Monsanto chose to keep it simple

Filipina actress Dionne Monsanto got married to her boyfriend of 15 years, Ryan Stalder in Bern, Switzerland last March 8. It can be seen in her post how simple and intimate the wedding was, but what caught the attention of many is how Dionne took simplicity to another level.

"I spent 300 pesos on my wedding dress," she posted on her Instagram account, sharing that the skirt is her "something old" wedding tradition pick. It was also a gift from her sister. "The corset is something I bought from an online shop in the Philippines for less than P300."

She continues her post, saying that she realizes that "things are just things." She doesn't need a lot to be happy, "llove and respect from people I love are more important than any material possession."

The next day, she also revealed that she started off with heels on her wedding day, but later realized that she's not vain enough to continue wearing them all throughout the day. "So I did this instead: wore a coat and changed to comfortable boots!"

Admitting that the "new" look wasn't part of the plan, she knew it didn't matter as long as she's marrying her husband Ryan. "Nothing and no one can stress me out."

She ends her post with her first lesson as a wife, "Most issues have a solution. Change the ones you can, and accept the ones you cannot. Whatever it is, you always have a choice. So choose what makes you stress-free. Choose what makes you happy."
