Another police official died of the complications due to coronavirus infection.
The death toll of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) deaths in the Philippine National Police (PNP) is now at 34.
The new COVID-19 fatality died two days after a middle-ranking officer of the PNP assigned in Metro Manila also died of coronavirus.
Based on the PNP Health Service data, the new fatality was 45 years old and assigned to Central Luzon.
COVID-19 cases in the PNP is also rising in the past days. On Monday night, a total of 103 cases were reported. This is consistent with the upsurge of COVID-19 cases in the country in the past days.
A total 12,343 PNP personnel have been infected since last year. Currently, there are 918 active cases.
