Artists from Boracay paint portraits inspired by Anne Curtis

Local artists from Boracay immortalize the beauty of actress Anne Curtis through art portraits unveiled at Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay.

In a series of Instagram stories, Anne shared masterpieces made by five local artists, one of which is inspired by her maternity shoot with fashion photographer BJ Pascual. The unveiling of the artworks is the first of many art-centric initiatives to happen in the hotel.

The actress has chosen two artworks to take home, while she signed the other pieces to be sold. The proceeds will help local artists of the island.

"Maraming maraming salamat. Each of these are etched in my mind and in my heart," Anne said to the artists. "Each of these portraits that you've made. And it was really lovely to hear the story behind them."

Since the reopening of Boracay last October 2020, the local government and the Department of Tourism have been putting efforts to revive its tourism. In a report by the Manila Bulletin, the island garnered a total of 19,164  tourist arrivals on the world-famous island from Dec. 1, 2020 to Jan. 10, 2021, with around 75.8 percent or 14,520 arrivals coming from the National Capital Region (NCR).
