Valenzuela City’s microchipping and anti-rabies vaccination programs for pets will be temporarily suspended to prevent risk of further transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the city.

In a Facebook post, the local government said that it will be launching an online appointment scheme in the coming weeks through its ValPets website.

Pet owners in the city are encouraged to register their pets to the ValPets program and have their dogs implanted with radio frequency identification (RFID) microchips, which will be provided for free by the City Veterinary Services Office (CVSO).

The RFID microchips will serve as the pets’ permanent ID (identification) that will store their vaccination records.
