‘True Beauty’ star Hwang In Yeop is top choice for ‘Princess Hours’ remake – poll

After the confirmation that Princess Hours will get a remake after 15 years, netizens have already hedged their bets on who should play the iconic role of Prince Lee Shin, who was originally portrayed by Ju Ji Hoon.


While Ju Ji Hoon might be known to younger fans as Kingdom’s Crown Prince Lee Chang, he was originally introduced to Kdrama lovers as the ultimate tsundere royal through the 2006 adaptation of the manhwa for Princess Hours or Goong. The series also featured Coffee Prince’s Yoon Eun Hye, Kim Jyeong Hoon and Song Ji Hyo, whom most people will be familiar with as Running Man’s ace.

In an online poll conducted by Kpopmap, Hwang in Yeop topped the polls with 8,534 votes, making up 64 percent of the voters. His portrayal as the second lead in the recent live action adaptation of True Beauty endeared him to the audience who rooted for him to end up with the girl until the end.

Lee Do Hyun, who rose to fame from his amazing portrayals in the surprise hit drama 17 Again, and Netflix’s fantasy series Sweet Home, catapulted him to the second place of the polls. He received 1,991 votes.
