The Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) will also be giving free rides to female passengers on Monday, March 8 in celebration of International Women’s Day.
The good news was announced by the MRT-3 management on its Facebook account Sunday, March 7.
According to the Facebook post, the free ride windows for women will be from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
"Mabuhay ang mga kababaihan! Ingat po sa byahe! #NationalWomensMonth (Long live women! Take care on your ride)," it read.
MRT-3 or the "blue line" stretches from North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City.
The "purple line" or the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2), which runs from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Marikina City, will also give free rides to women Monday during the same hours.
