PNP sends police bike patrollers at NAIA

The Philippine National Police Aviation Security group assigned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has deployed bicycle-riding policemen to strengthen the security of airport complex.

Police Sgt. Nestor Baliuag said police bike patrollers were tasked to beef up visibility in the airport, explaining that the mere police presence is already a crime deterrence.  "This is also to remind people to follow the minimum health safety standard protocol such as wearing a face mask, a face shield and observing physical distancing," said Baliuag.

Travellers have started to flock NAIA in the past months after the government lifted some travel restrictions in order to revive the economy.

Aside from implementing health safety protocol, Baliuag said they were also instructed to run after criminal elements near the airport such as holdupmen and snatchers.
