CAAP recently commemorated its 13th founding anniversary with the theme, "CAAP Steadfast@13: Flying High Above the New Normal Challenges for a Safe Philippine Sky," via videoconferencing app Zoom. The celebration was simultaneously streamed on the agency's official Facebook page.

Leading the simple celebration held at the CAAP Covered Court was Director General Capt. Jim C. Sydiongco.

Strictly observing the health protocols recommended by Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF-EID) for mass gatherings, CAAP commenced its celebration with a Thanksgiving Mass physically attended by the Authority's management and selected personnel, followed by a video presentation of accomplishments and activities.

In his message, Sydiongco expressed his gratitude to all CAAP personnel who continue to fight corruption, as well as ensure a safe, secure, and efficient aviation service for the comfort and convenience of the flying public. He said these were the mandates given by President Duterte and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur P. Tugade to the agency.

Since becoming an independent regulatory body in 2008, CAAP has sought to improve the country’s aviation sector by launching initiatives and projects aimed at developing aviation infrastructure, safety and overall performance.

CAAP said it intends to roll out more project completions and inaugurations this year.
