Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator, Usec. Raul del Rosario clarified on Thursday, March 4 that he has never, or will ever, solicit money from anybody for whatever purpose, or will he directly contact suppliers regarding OTS projects.

This, after information reached Del Rosario that some persons have been impersonating him for this “shameless” purpose.

Reports said that last Tuesday, March 2, a call was received by Cloudify Web Solutions Inc., a biometrics system supplier, from a certain agent. The agent then passed the phone to another individual, who introduced himself as Usec. Del Rosario.

The private supplier immediately informed and verified with the OTS the legitimacy of the call.

Del Rosario says that, as the approving authority for OTS projects, his job is to conscientiously approve proposals of his subordinates, and not deal with private companies to prevent the risk of bribery and corruption.

It was also found out that Cloudify received another bogus phone call last February 16, 2021 wherein the caller solicited for money that would supposedly be used for the procurement of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines for the poor.

Del Rosario urged other private contractors and the public in general to report similar illicit activities to the OTS Public Affairs Division.
