Ex-policeman wanted for rape captured in Batangas

BAGUIO CITY – A former policeman who is being hunted for a rape case has been captured by elements of the Baguio City Police Office conducting a manhunt operation in Lipa City, Batangas.

BCPO Director Col. Allen Rae Co identified the arrested suspect as Ronald Salcedo Olarte who is accused of committing an incestuous rape case in Baguio City on January 1, 2006.

Olarte is a former member of the Philippine National Police who was dropped from the roll in February 2006. He is listed by the Department of Interior and Local Government as the Top Most Wanted Person of the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) with monetary reward of P135,000 based on the DILG MC No. 2021-022.

He is currently under the temporary custody of the Lipa City Police Station soon after being arrested on March 2, 2021 along Balintawak Road, Lipa City, Batangas.

The warrant of arrest against Olarte was issued by Judge Iluminda Cabato of Branch 59, Baguio City.
