Dizon said he is “very proud to be part of such [an] important and historic moment.”

“Hopefully our actions today allow more people to gain more confidence in the vaccination program, napakaimportante nitong ginagawa natin ngayon (what we’re doing right now is very important,” he noted in an interview with PTV.

“Ito na ang simula na malapit nang matapos ang napakabigat na problema natin, pero (This is the start of the end of our problems, but) we have to do our part. And our most important part right now is to have ourselves vaccinated,” Dizon added.

The testing czar also assured that the vaccines are safe, effective, and free.

“Kunwari magkakaroon ng konting nararamdaman ang ating mga kababayan pagkatapos ng vaccination, pati po yun aalagaan ng gobyerno, wala po silang poproblemahin sa bayad sa treatment (Let’s say some suffer from adverse effects after getting the jabs, we assure you the government will take care of  you, you will no longer have ti worry about paying for your treatment),” Dizon added.

The Philippines officially kicked off its vaccination program following the arrival of 600,000 CoronaVac from Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac Biotech Ltd on Sunday, Feb. 28.

The vaccines were donated by the Chinese government to the Philippines.
