The National Parks Development Committee (NPDC) and the Manila city government led the opening celebration of Women’s Month at the Rizal Park on Monday (March 1). In line with the celebration, the NPDC prepared activities for “Juanas” that included the lighting of Rizal Monument in violet, the Stop and Salute Flag Ceremony, yoga sessions, and an online concert.

The month-long celebration will also feature empowering talks and events.
Most of the activities will be made available for public viewing at the NDPC’s official Facebook page and through other online platforms to ensure the safety of all the participants amid the pandemic.

“As for our other activities, most of them are still online. The materials to be shown are pre-recorded since we are not conducting physical concerts or events in the park. Registration is not needed since all will be available online in our Facebook page,” said Margaux Vanessa T. Decripito, head of the Park Permit Section.
