Those looking for a farmily-friendly vehicle ought to turn their attention to the GAC GN6. Unveiled by Legado Motors, Inc., the official distributor of GAC Motor cars in the Philippines, this new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) is an elegantly designed seven-seaer MPV.
The all-new GN6 boasts of a distinctive exterior, featuring GAC’s flying dynamics design language in its front end design. The front facade features wing-shaped daytime running lamps that make ti more visible, safer, and enhance its appeal. Behind, it bears LED taillights, complemented by an LED braking light strip, with styling similar to the GN8 minivan. To give the GN6 a better stance and ride, it is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
The GN6 was designed to provide a comfortable and spacious ride for seven adult passengers. Its ultra-wide second-row corridor (190mm) lets the passengers enter and exit the vehicle with ease, allowing easier access to third-row seats.
For a more comfortable ride, the second-row has captain seats with armrests can be lifted or lowered. This also makes it more convenient to place child booster seat, adjustable forwards or backwards so that the passengers may maximize the legroom.
Adding to the passengers’ comfort is its 360-degree Quiet Car technology that cancels the ambient noise in the environment to create a quieter cabin.
For longer road trips, the GN6 also has 324-liters of trunk space that can be expanded to 1,100 liters by folding down the third-row seats.
The driver has a wealth of information before him thanks to its massive seven-inch instrument panel with which to display all the vital trip info. Passengers get an eight-inch LCD infotainment display for entertainment. Both are housed in a single panel for a clean and elegant look.
This infotainment system comes with Bluetooth connectivity and a six-speaker sound system, allowing passengers to link up their favorite entertainment streaming source while on the road.
Engine
Powering the all-new GN6 is a 1.5-liter, turbocharged inline-four engine that is Euro 5-compliant. It’s capable of producing 170 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque and paired with an automatic transmission.
Buyers should be put at ease by the fact that many of its components are truly world class. Its powertrain was produced by Aisin Seiki, the largest producer of automatic transmission engines in the world. The engine is also equipped with Bosch 200bar in-cylinder fuel injection technology.
These innovations work together to return fuel consumption of 14km/L. Combine this with a fuel tank capacity of 52 liters and it makes for truly long journeys without needing to refuel.
Making those long drives more comfortable is the L-type Mcpherson front suspension that effectively suppresses high-frequency vibration, resulting in better handling, a more stable ride, and better driving comfort.
Safety features
When it comes to safety, the GN6 is equipped with front dual airbags, front side airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), traction control system (TCS), a rearview camera, parking sensors, electronic parking brake, three-point seatbelts with alarm, ISOFIX child seat anchors, brake hold assist, and engine immobilizer with anti-theft alarm. The GN6 is built on a high-strength steel safe chassis that does a great job in emitting the vehicle vibration and does its job in protecting the occupants of the vehicle from an intense collision impact.
For better stability at high speeds, the GN6 is equipped with Bosch’s latest ESP 9.3 that corrects oversteering at sudden cornering and sudden lane change. It also has a 14-in-1 active safety system that provides uphill and downhill assistance.
It also comes with a remote keyless system that performs the functions of a standard key without the need for physical contact with the car. It includes a remote keyless ignition system, remote window and sunroof controller.
Its sensor lock feature locks the doors when the driver is at least three meters away from the car. Conversely, the unlock sensor unlocks the doors when the driver is at least one meter away from the vehicle.
The all-new GAC GN6 is available at an SRP of P1,480,000. It also comes with a five-year or 150,000-km, whichever comes first. This new MPV comes in three colors: Pearl White, Elegant Black, and Peacock Blue.
