Fair weather expected until first week of March, no cyclone in the next 9 days —PAGASA

Brace for generally fair weather until the first week of March.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Thursday, Feb. 25, no weather disturbance is expected to develop or affect the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in the next nine days.

“Wala naman po tayong minomonitor na sama ng panahon na posibleng makaapekto sa ating bansa hanggang matapos ang buwan ng Pebrero at posible po sa unang linggo ng Marso ay wala tayong inaasang mabubuong sama ng panahon (We are not monitoring any weather disturbance that could affect our country until the end of February and possible until the end of May, we are not expecting any weather disturbance),” weather specialist Ariel Rojas said in a livestreamed 4 p.m. weather forecast.

He said easterlies or the warm and humid rains originating from the Pacific Ocean will continue to bring warm and humid weather across the country.

He said the some parts of the country, particularly the eastern section will experience isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night.

PAGASA cautioned the public that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The state weather bureau said it has not issued a gale warning, which means that fishing boats and other small sea craft are allowed to venture out into the sea.
