BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said 43-year-old Alsendi Waleed Abdulla Hamad was captured Tuesday, Feb.23 in Barangay San Francisco II, Dasmariñas, Cavite by operatives from the bureau’s fugitive search unit (FSU).

Morente said he issued the mission order for Hamad’s arrest on instructions from the Department of Justice (DOJ), which told the BI to verify the presence of the Bahraini national.

Morente added that Hamad is the subject of an arrest warrant by the public prosecutor’s office of Bahrain for sexual assault and possession of pornographic materials.

“He will be summarily deported as his presence here and record as a sex offender pose a serious threat to our people,” the BI chief said.

Information from the BI revealed that Hamad fled to the Philippines in March 2016 after being accused of sexually assaulting a female victim in his apartment.

He is now detained at the BI warden facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending his deportation.
