4.7-magnitude quake rocks near Pangasinan


The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) logged  on Thursday, Feb. 25,  a 4.7-magnitude earthquake in Pangasinan.

The light earthquake was reported around 10:55 a.m. 

Phivolcs said the tremor originated 74 kilometers southwest of Agno, Pangasinan. It has a depth of 79 kilometers.

There was no recorded intensity, and damage and aftershocks were not expected.

Phivolcs said the earthquake was tectonic in origin, which means the tremor was caused by the movement of an active fault in the area.
