  1. The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) granted Emergency Use Authority (EUA) for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine Sinovac Biotech of China. But President Duterte will not be among the first to get the Sinovac vaccines after the country’s drug regulators advised against its use for senior citizens, Malacañang announced Monday.

  • Residents of Metro Manila, and the cities of Cebu and Davao will be the first recipients of the Sinovac vaccines, which are expected to arrive in a few days, according to Malacanang.
  • The center of tropical depression Auring (international name “Dujuan”) made landfall over Batag Island in Laoang, Northern Samar around 9 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22, and was already moving towards Albay-Sorsogon before noon.Auring
  • Despite being downgraded to a tropical depression, “Auring” nevertheless brought heavy rains, resulting in massive flooding in parts of Mindanao.
