Two fighters of Filipino descent are set for their mixed martial arts comeback in March.

Filipino-Kiwi Mark Abelardo and Fil-Indonesian Aziz Calim were included in the fight card of ONE: Fists of Fury II at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 5.

Abelardo will lock horns with American opponent Emilio Urrutia in the bantamweight division while Calim will clash with Roshan Mainam of India in the flyweight bout.

Abelardo, who holds a 19-8 record, seeks to put himself back in the bantamweight frame after suffering three defeats in his last five fights since February 2019.

Last year was unfortunate for the 29-year-old Fil-Kiwi fighter, losing to American Troy Worthen via unanimous decision in February before yielding to Fabricio Andrade of Brazil by way of submission in July.

It was almost the same for Calim, 23, who has lost twice in the last three bouts since his ONE Championship debut in November 2018 for a 5-4 slate.

The Fil-Indonesian warrior last saw action in August 2019, submitting to Japanese Ryuto Sawada with a rear-naked choke in the first round.

Calim's debut was spoiled by fellow Indonesian Adrian Mattheis with a guillotine choke finisher before bouncing back in January 2019 with a submission win of his own against Adi Paryanto of Indonesia.

Abelardo was born and raised in New Zealand to Filipino parents and Calim was born to a Filipino father and an Indonesian mother in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Urrutia (11-7) is also coming from a losing slump with three consecutive defeats since April 2018 while Mainam rides on a two-match win streak since his ONE Championship debut in November 2019.
