Strict quarantine measures are in effect from Feb. 18 to March 3 in Ilaya Street in Bgy. San Juan due to the COVID-19 cases.

Under Resolution No. 03-2021, the Local Government Unit-Baras Task Force Against COVID-19 has imposed Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) on two houses in Ilaya Street and Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) on 82 houses “due to the emergence of new cases of individuals found positive for COVID-19.”

The local government of Baras, in a Facebook post, said the clustering of cases of COVID-19 in Ilaya Street, with four confirmed cases since Feb. 12, has prompted the task force to classify the two houses as “Critical Zone” while the other 82 houses as”Containment Zone.” Bgy. San Juan has a total of five active cases as of Feb. 19.

While under ECQ, residents of the two houses are prohibited from going out of their residence for the duration of their 14-day mandatory quarantine.

Food packs and basic essential needs are being given to the residents of the two houses by the municipal government while personnel from the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team are doing the errands of buying essential goods and medicines for them.

In the MECQ area of Ilaya Street, those 15 years old and below, and 65 years old and above as well as those who are sick are not allowed to go out of their homes.

Only those who are Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR) will be allowed to go out to access essential needs or to go to work provided that they show their respective quarantine pass or company ID.
