The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has rescued 19 passengers and eight crew members aboard a distressed motorbanca in Bucas Grande Island, Surigao del Norte on Thursday, February 18.
The PCG said that the motorbanca plying from the Port of Surigao City going to the Port of Del Carmen was hit by a huge log floating on the water that caused a hole on its secondary hull.
The captain safely maneuvered the motorbanca to take shelter in Sta. Cruz, Surigao del Norte while waiting for rescue assistance.
The PCG said the rescued passengers and crew members were safely brought to the Port of Del Carmen.
No passengers and crew members were injured during the incident.
