Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic czar Bong Nebrija knows a good strategy when he hears one. #TheBelgicaStrategy is one of them.

Nebrija took to his Facebook last Feb. 16 to share to his followers the words of wisdom of Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) chief Greco Belgica on the subject of addressing the many ills of the country.

"Hindi natin pwedeng piliin ang problema ng bayan na gusto lang nating resulbahin (We can't choose the problems of the nation that we want to solve)," wrote the MMDA official.

"We need a holistic approach to address each one at the same time. We have many challenges to face together as a nation and we are stronger together," he explained.

Nebrija's remarks echoed the call for cooperation that Belgica made in a separate Facebook post. The latter contended that "what we do today, not only will benefit the current generation but also the future of our country."

"Sama-sama nating labanan at puksain ang korapsyon, droga, kriminalidad, at terorismo para sa ikabubuti ng ating bayan at para sa kinabukasan ng ating mga anak. May pandemya, droga, terorismo, at walang katapusang korapsyon. Pag hindi natin ito pinigilan, kawawa ang Pilipino at mga anak natin (Together, let us fight to end corruption, drugs, criminality, and terrorism for the sake of our nation and for our children's future. There is a pandemic, illegal drugs, terrorism, and endless corruption. If we don't stop these, the Filipino nation and our kids would be pitiful)," he said.

Needless to say, Nebrija believes that the PACC commissioner's strategy will lead to success.

The 43-year-old Belgica once ran for a Senate seat under the Democratic Party of the Philippines-Reporma Pilipinas.
