Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said 40-year-old John Dalton Daclan was apprehended by members of the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU).

The US Embassy requested the assistance of the BI in locating and arresting the fugitive so that he can face trial before the Orange County Superior Court in California. The court had issued three arrest warrants in June 2010 for a number of serious crimes.

Among others, the American was charged with forgery, burglary, theft, use of false identification, fraud, battery, and receiving stolen property.

Morente said the foreigner will be deported not only for being an undesirable alien, but also for overstaying.

The US State Department has cancelled his passport making him an undocumented alien.

Daclon is presently detained at the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending his deportation.
