The highly-anticipated Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Pro League (MPL) Philippines Season 7, which stakes a massive prize pool of $120,000 (over P5.7 million), will fire off on March 19.

Same as the previous season of Moonton's professional league for its famous mobile MOBA game, the 10 participating teams will be divided into two groups and battle it out in the group stage that will run for eight weekends.

Group A will be composed of defending champion Bren Esports, Season 6 fourth-placer Onic PH, one from the 5th-6th and another one from 7th-8th (draw lots to decide), and one of the two qualifiers.

Group B will have Season 6 runner-up Smart Omega, third-placer Execration and so on as stated above.

Teams that finished on the 5th-8th places are Aura PH, Blacklist International, Nexplay Solid and Cignal Ultra. The two qualifiers are Work Auster Force and Laus Playbook Esports, which replaced bottom finishers Blu Fire and BSB.

Matches in the group stage are set in a best-of-three format.

A break is slated after the second weekend in observance of the Holy Week.

Group stage action will resume on April 9 and will conclude on May 16 followed by the All-Star Weekend on May 22 and 23.

The top eight teams from the regular season will advance to the playoffs that will be held for two weekends.

Game developer Moonton decided to revert the playoffs back to the thrilling double-elimination format after implementing a single-elimination knockout format last season.

This time, though, the playoffs will have best-of-five matches leading to the best-of-seven Grand Finals.

The first playoffs weekend is set on May 29-30 while the second playoffs weekend which includes the Grand Finals is slated on June 5-6.
