Caloocan City Mayor Oca Malapitan dismissed a job order employee of the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) due to an extortion complaint by an Ice Plant company in the city Monday.
According to the report, the employee was identified as Vince Noveno.
We will not tolerate any wrongdoings of our employees. Those who will be proven doing something illegal, they will be arrested and dismissed),” Mayor Malapitan said.
Noven was arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at the North City Hall this afternoon.
Tinitiyak ko rin na makikipagtulungan tayo sa NBI para masampahan ng kaso ang nahuling kawani (As of now, we are communicating with the NBI to know more details about this. I assure you that we will cooperate with the NBI to file the case),” Mayor Malapitan said.
Mayor Malapitan encouraged residents to report cases involving government workers.
There is no room for corruption in our city. Anyone can be arrested. As public servants, we should be a good example to our constituents),” Mayor Malapitan said.
