The Philippine Association for Intellectual Disabilities (PAFID), Inc., in partnership with the local government of Quezon City, will hold a virtual day camp for children with special needs on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
The 45th “Camp Pag-ibig” with the theme, “Love can do Wonders,” will tackle the importance of mental health, disaster preparedness, and other topics that would help its participants during this trying time.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte will give the inspirational message during the opening ceremonies and to formally launch the event.
A thanksgiving Mass and a talent show will be held to be participated in by children with disabilities and special needs to showcase their talents in art, dancing, and singing.
Parents can also participate in the forums about mental health and adapted disaster risk management for persons with disabilities facilitated by the QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The Camp Pag-ibig is held every Sunday of February nearest to Valentine’s Day to coincide with the National Intellectual Disability Week.
The annual camp was set up by PAFID, Inc., in partnership with the QC government, with the continuing support of the Department of Education, NCR, JCI Quezon City Capitol, Manila Water Company, and other NGOs.
This year’s Camp Pag-ibig will be held via zoom and livestreamed on February 14 at 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. through Camp Pag-ibig 2021 and Quezon City Government Facebook pages.
