The BIR chief said in a memorandum that P2.017 trillion will be generated from operations, with the balance coming from so-called non-operation like the final withholding and documentary stamp taxes.

He said the specialized audit divisions under the large taxpayers service (LTS) will raise 67 percent, or P1.3 trillion of the goal.

The LTS handles the investigation of the more than 3,000 top corporations operating in the country including multinational and inter-related companies.

The 22 revenue regions and the more than 120 district offices under them will collect the remaining P655 billion.

The six regional offices based in Metro Manila were assigned to raise some P414 billion.

Dulay said the collection target for 2021, fixed by the Department of Finance, was P305 billion higher over last year's assignment.

The premier tax collection arm of the government raised last year more than P1.9 trillion.
