Rubiano said that after getting the positive swab test result on February 8, she immediately ordered all employees who interacted with her to undergo RT-PCR testing.

The local government unit is now implementing stricter health protocols and contact tracing.

The mayor, who is in a stable condition, asked her constituents to include her in their prayers and reminded them to practice stricter health protocols to protect them from the virus.

Rubiano instructed all department heads and officials in the city to ensure that all programs, projects, and services of the local government will continue.

She said she will still run the local government through the use of technology such as Zoom, Viber, and constant telephone consultations with city officials.

The mayor also assured that all the services of the city government will continue to be provided to her constituents.

“The coronavirus does not choose who to infect. Let us not be complacent but continue to be careful and cautious. This likewise highlights the reality that we really need the vaccination and to pray to our Almighty God,” Rubiano said.
