CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan — A man after trying to evade a checkpoint in this city was shot dead in an exchange of fire with the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 (RMFB3) early morning of February 8.

In his report to Central Luzon police regional director B/General Valeriano T. De Leon, Lt. Colonel Fitz Macariola, RMFB3 force commander, stated that at around 4 a.m., while the elements of 301st MC were conducting a checkpoint operation in Barangay Kaypian, an unidentified man onboard a Honda BeAt motorcycle with a yellow cap and face mask without a helmet was flagged down by a manning police officer.

But the police were suddenly shocked that instead of slowing down, the motorcycle rider drew a cal. 38 revolver and fired upon the RMFB3 personnel.

The police members of the checkpoint team prompted to retaliate and a brief exchange of fire ensued causing the suspect’s instantaneous death. Further investigation is now being conducted for possible identification of the slain suspect.
