It seems like former Smart Omega coach Steven "DaleDalus" Vitug is headed to Nexplay Solid.
Popular streamer and NXP cornerstone Akosi Dogie bared through his latest vlog that he already talked with DaleDalus and gave him an offer to coach the team for the upcoming MPL Philippines Season 7.
"In-offeran ko na si DaleDalus. Tinawagan ko na siya lahat-lahat (I already sent an offer to DaleDalus and called him)," Dogie said in his vlog posted on his Youtube channel on Friday night.
Daledalus earlier told Bulletin that he is set to lead another squad in the upcoming MPL Season 7, but did not disclose the name of the team.
In the same vlog, the NXP Solid standouts said they are okay with being under the SEA Games gold-winning mentor.
However, Dogie is hesitant to get DaleDalus due to personal reasons.
"Ang sa'kin kasi, it's either na ipagpatuloy ko 'yung ego ko. Gusto kong talunin si DaleDalus sa pagco-coach (For me, it depends on my ego. I want to beat DaleDalus in terms of coaching)," he said.
Dogie stressed that he wants to get back at DaleDalus, who steered PLDT-Smart Omega to a championship in The Nationals at the expense of Dogie and his Happy Feet Emperors crew.
But the famous streamer knows very well that DaleDalus will be a vital piece in NXP's campaign in the seventh season of Moonton's professional league.
"'Yung ego ko, gusto kong lagpasan si Dale. Gusto ko siya makalaban sa MPL. Or ibaba ko 'yung ego ko tapos kunin ko siya kasi alam kong ikakabuti ng Solid (I want to surpass Dale and compete against him in the MPL. But I can also give up my ego and get him because it will be good for Solid)," said Dogie.
DaleDalus led Omega to a runner-up finish behind Bren Esports in Season 6, while NXP was sent packing by the eventual champion right in the first round of the playoffs.
While Dogie claimed that the new-look NXP Solid is undeniably strong, he said that the players still need to work on their attitude, which DaleDalus could fix.
"Ang problema kasi sa Solid lahat na ginagawa nilang joke (The problem with Solid is they always goof around)," he added.
"If ever man makuha namin si DaleDalus, sana mawala yung attitude nila (If ever we get DaleDalus, hopefully their bad attitude will be gone)."
