Former WWE star Gabe Tuft, now known as Gabbi Tuft, has recently come out as a transgender woman.

The wrestler, who was known for being Tyler Reks in the ring, announced the transition in lengthy posts on her social media accounts Thursday.

Tuft detailed that the past eight months have become "some of the darkest" times of her entire life due to possible backfire and constant fear of discrimination.

"The ball dropped early today as this is now worldwide news. This is me. Unashamed, unabashedly me," wrote Tuft as she posted a photo of her alongside past identity Gabe.

"This is the side of me that has hidden in the shadows, afraid and fearful of what the world would think; afraid of what my family, friends, and followers would say or do."

The 42-year-old Tuft said she will remain "transparent and truthful" with her journey and will serve as a "light" to those in need amid these trying times.

The former wrestling star, once and for all, vowed to open up more details regarding the recent development in an interview with Billy Bush on Extra today, February 5.

"I don’t expect everyone to agree or understand. It’s not my place to change any of your core beliefs. Just know that the outer shell may change, but the soul remains the same," added Tuft, expressing gratitude to wife Priscilla, with whom she shares nine-year-old daughter Mia and to others who accepted her for who she is.

The California-native wrestler, who debuted in professional wrestling in 2007, retired from the sport in 2014. She had spent the WWE spotlight as a tag team with Curt Hawkins.
