Aguilar immediately ordered the city’s price control council, including the market master, and Dr. Michael Basangan, chief of the City Veterinary Office and head of City Agriculture, to conduct inspections in mall supermarkets, public markets, and talipapa’s in the city.

Basangan was also directed to ensure strict implementation of the 60-day price ceiling.

The mayor said violators will either be issued a show-cause order or have their licenses suspended.
