Here’s a teaser for Jared Leto’s new Joker look

This puts a smile on fans’ faces

The Joker is, arguably, one of the most iconic characters in the world of comic books. This is even made more evident by the calibre of actors who have once put on the clown prince of crime’s makeup—whether in live-action films like those of Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and most recently, by Joaquin Phoenix, or in animated versions like that of Mark Hamill.

It was no surprise, therefore, that those who do put on the Joker’s smile are often scrutinized (sometimes unfairly) by fans both hardcore and casual. This was the case for Jared Leto’s not-so-well-loved portrayal of the Joker in the not-so-well-received 2016 Suicide Squad film.

But it looks like Leto’s reprisal of the sinister villain is about to put a smile on the faces of fans and bashers alike, as Zack Snyder teases a different Joker look for the upcoming Justice League: Snyder Cut.

Snyder’s tweet of the new Joker seems to have satisfied those who previously did not like the Leto’s portrayal—well, judging by the number of hearts and comments the tweet received. Although blurred, Leto’s Joker appears to have longer hair, akin to Ledger’s and Phoenix’s versions, holding the classic card associated with the character.

As to how different this Joker will be from the Suicide Squad version, we’ll all find out on March 18 when Justice League: Snyder Cut premiers on HBO Max.
