2 fishermen rescued in Olongapo City

Two local fishermen aboard a distressed fishing boat were rescued off the waters of  Olongapo City, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Monday.

They were identified as Carlo Cinco and Charlie Cinco. A search and rescue team found them in the waters of Barangay Kalaklan on January 30 after they called for assistance.

In a statement, the PCG said those who were rescued went fishing in a small boat that had no engine.

But the boat started to drift away from the shoreline.

The rescue team took the fishermen to the Baraca Pier where they were assisted by the PCG personnel in Zambales station.
