BLACKPINK holds first livestream concert: ‘Thank you for waiting, we miss you’

K-pop girl group BLACKPINK held the first livestream concert “The Show” on YouTube on Jan. 31, drawing fans from all over the world. 

BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo performed for one and a half hours and with a live band to showcase their hit songs. 

They opened the show tihe “Kill This Love,” “Crazy Over You” and “How You Like That.”  They also performed “Don’t Know What To Do,” “Playing with Fire” and “Lovesick Girls.” 

“BLINKs watching from all over the world, we welcome you. We’re nervous and excited to think that we can meet our BLINKs on a concert stage in one year. We’ll work hard and present great performances,” the quartet told the fans. 

BLACKPINK also sang “Sour Candy,” a collaboration with Lady Gaga that was released last year. 

They told fans, “Since it’s our first time holding a livestream concert, we tried to prepare special performances. We had so much fun while preparing for ‘Sour Candy.’ We kept saying it’s really fun as we practiced,” according to YG blog. 

In addition to “Love To Hate Me” and “You Never Know,” BLACKPINK members had solo performances. 

Rosé surprised fans by performing “Gone,” a track from her upcoming solo album. Lisa performed Doja Cat’s “Say So” while Jisoo had Tove Lo’s “Habits” and Jennie unveiled a newly arranged version of “Solo.” 

Other songs they performed were “Pretty Savage,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Whistle,” “As If It’s Your Last” and “Boombayah,” and ended the concert with “Forever Young.” 

“We’ve worked hard preparing for the concert, and we hope the BLINKs who were watching enjoyed and cheered for us,” Jisoo told fans. “We ran into unexpected circumstances, but luckily finished safely without problems. We hope you were energized and that the concert filled you up with positive vibes.”  

According to Rosé, “I think we’re the ones being consoled and receiving positive energy through the concert”  while Jennie said, “Thank you for waiting, we miss you.”
