"San Juan City is elated that its vaccine provider, AstraZeneca, has secured an FDA approval for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) here in the Philippines." Zamora said.

The mayor added that the city has procured 100,000 doses of vaccines from the company, enough to inoculate 50,000 residents.

"The FDA approval is a validation that purchasing from AstraZeneca is the right decision." Zamora said.

Zamora said that the city can now look forward to the delivery of the vaccines and as they wait for its rollout, he assured the public that they will continue to prepare and improve San Juan's vaccination plan by continuous training and simulation exercises.

The city recently concluded its COVID-19 vaccination simulation last January 21.
