P100k worth of shabu seized from mother, son in Pasay buy-bust


Anti-narcotics police arrested a mother and her son both listed under the illegal drugs watchlist in a buy-bust operation in Pasay City past midnight on Wednesday.

Pasay City Police Chief Col. Cesar Paday-os identified the two as John Albert Antonio, 22 alias "Jan-Jan" and Catherine Antonio, 40, alias "Cathy," both residents of No. 577 Ventanilla Street, Barangay 124, Zone 12, Pasay City.

Members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Pasay City conducted the drug sting operation at around 12:30 in the morning at the residence of the Antonios which led to their arrest.

Police recovered 40 pieces of small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.

The seized items weighing 16.45 grams have an estimated value of P111,860 and were turned over to the Crime Laboratory of the Southern Police District while the two are now under the custody of the SDEU.

Paday-os said that they will continue with their relentless anti-criminality and anti-drug operations in Pasay City even amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
