Light earthquake shakes Ilocos region
A 4.2-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte on Wednesday evening.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) initially measured the light earthquake at 3.8-magnitude.
The tremor, which was registered around 9:07 p.m., originated 35 kilometers northwest of Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.
It was felt as a “moderately strong” earthquake at Intensity IV in Pasuquin, Bacarra, Laoag City, and Paoay, all in Ilocos Norte.
Meanwhile, it was recorded as a “weak” shaking at Intensity III in Badoc, Batac City, and Burgos, also in Ilocos Norte.
Sinait, Ilocos Sur felt the earthquake at Intensity II as a “slight” shaking, while it was “scarcely perceptible” at Intensity I in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.
Phivolcs’ instrument also detected the earthquake at Intensity I in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
