How Vania Romoff, with PCOS, prepared for her pregnancy

Since the announcement that Vania Romoff's pregnant last September 2020, the designer has been posting chic maternity photos that her followers can't get over.

Today, she posted another one with a beautiful big bow. Her caption says, "This pregnancy is a gift. What many of you don't know is I had PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome), and it was hard for me to conceive. Five years after Emilia, through a drastic change of diet (@ketovegetarianph for a year!), I got pregnant naturally and now have two on the way! So yes, I wanted to dress myself as a present!"

Her post piqued our curiosity, and so Manila Bulletin Lifestyle asked Ketovegetarian founder Kath Buendia for more details about this healthy move of the blooming pregnant mom. "Vania started Ketovegetarian last year, because she wanted to get to a healthier weight in preparation for her pregnancy. She also suffers from PCOS so that can really mess up your hormones and cause an imbalance, making it hard for her to conceive."

So what did Vania take for one year? Detox plan which includes three full vegetarian meals and one snack. It also comes with a D1 drink that's a concoction of chlorophyl, lemon, and ginger. "It's basically a detoxing drink that supports weight loss and protects you from inflammation," explains Kath.

“Keto really helps in managing PCOS symptoms, because it helps you lose the weight you gain, staves off sugar cravings, and balances your hormones, so it helps to reverse infertility caused by PCOS," explains Dr. Geraldine Lazaro, Pediatrician, Makati Medical Center.

After an entire year with us, she was able to manage her PCOS symptoms, get back to her pre-pregnancy weight and successfully conceive another baby," adds Kath.
